# InboxMCP > A mailbox-scoped, read-only email connector for personal AI agents. InboxMCP passes imported email and attributed owner preferences to the user's chosen agent; that agent decides whether to notify. This is a documentation index, not an execution or authorization mechanism. Last verified: 2026-10-04. ## Setup references - [Agent-assisted setup](https://inboxmcp.ai/agent-setup.md): Public reference with capability checks, independent collection, exact MCP tools, platform setup, built-in processing progress and acceptance checks. Read before configuring; use the user's language. - [Human setup guide](https://inboxmcp.ai/support.html): Browser instructions, prerequisites, current limitations, account and billing help. English, Simplified Chinese and Spanish. - [Platform status](https://inboxmcp.ai/#progress): Claude Community listing published; ChatGPT publication under review; Muse application submitted; no confirmed Grok/Cursor approval. ## Product and connection - [Account dashboard](https://app.inboxmcp.ai/app): Register/sign in, connect a mailbox, enable independent continuous collection, save preferences and inspect synchronization. Optional Grok delivery is a separate setting. Credentials belong in the authenticated form, not in chat. - [Remote MCP endpoint](https://app.inboxmcp.ai/mcp): Streamable HTTP with OAuth; default email:read access is scoped to selected mailboxes. Use a supported client's connector flow. - [OAuth resource metadata](https://app.inboxmcp.ai/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp): Public authorization discovery. - [OAuth server metadata](https://app.inboxmcp.ai/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server): Public authorization discovery. - [Claude Community listing](https://claude.ai/directory/inboxmcp): Published connector; Community is not a Verified badge. ## Data and limits - [Service privacy](https://app.inboxmcp.ai/privacy): Data handling and retention. - [Terms](https://inboxmcp.ai/terms.html): Service terms. Continuous collection works without a Grok account or Webhook. Enable it per mailbox in the dashboard; authorized MCP clients can then read imported mail when their platform supports the connection. The updated server has nine tools, including get_email_monitor_state, claim_email_batch and complete_email_batch. They save per-connection progress in InboxMCP using separately authorized consumer-state:write; no Notion, Drive or client cursor is needed. Source email stays read-only. New baselines begin at owner consent; migrate existing tasks without resetting their latest confirmed progress. The tools do not connect mailboxes, enable synchronization or create platform tasks. Compatible clients may use the implemented official MCP Events protocol 2026-07-28; actual ChatGPT account support and event-triggered notifications require end-to-end verification. Claude continues to use compatible Scheduled tasks; ordinary Claude and Muse native incoming-mail triggers are not provided. Verify the actual runtime can call the connector, including cloud tasks. A customer Muse connection has not yet been verified. Do not infer capabilities from marketplace application status. Grok delivery is optional and separately enabled. Disabling it or changing/removing the saved Grok connection leaves collection running. Pausing mailbox monitoring stops collection and Grok delivery, while existing MCP grants can still read retained mail until separately revoked. Existing active Grok monitors are preserved; previously paused monitors remain paused. The optional report_email_decision tool changes shared delivery state and stops pending delivery/retries for that event; it is not a notification or task-checkpoint API.
